Get to Know Us

Together Art is the result of creative collaboration between Fine Art photographer Margie McCullough, and art quilter Elizabeth (Betsy) Bennett. Margie's beautiful images are printed on fabric, quilted by Betsy, and given unique dimensional interest with natural or found objects.  Each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.

Gone Swimming
This piece captures the quiet peace of an empty shoreline, just two chairs, a kayak, and the suggestion of time paused, while the former occupants go for a swim. It’s a visual echo of days spent near the water, soaking in stillness and simplicity.

Photographic elements printed on cotton fabric create the scene, while layered stitching mimics ripples in the sand and movement in the waves.

A collaboration between Betsy Bennett and Margie McCullough, this work blends the tactile warmth of quilting with the crisp storytelling of photography. The paddle is a Jim McCullough original painting in itself.

Dimensions: 47”x 26” wall hanging.

Quilted Joyride

This whimsical piece combines a love of summer bike rides with the warmth of handmade quilting. Set inside a real bicycle wheel, the fabric features a photo-printed image of three colorful bikes parked by the beach. Careful stitching adds texture and depth, with thread-painted highlights that bring the scene to life, from the curved handlebars to the tiny birds perched on the baskets. And yes, the bell on the bike actually works!

A soft, patchwork border in sandy tones surrounds the photo, echoing the feel of a sun-drenched boardwalk. The wheel’s spokes cut through the quilt like rays of sunlight or compass points, adding a playful sense of motion. It’s a joyful nod to adventure, nostalgia, and the art of slowing down.

Dimensions: 29”x 26” wall hanging.

Leafy Connections
Inspired by the layered textures and vibrant life of a tropical garden, this piece explores the contrast between light and shadow in foliage. It evokes the idea of growth through connection, how individual pieces create a unified whole.
The image, printed on cotton fabric, was enhanced with quilting, cut apart, and reconnected with painted strings. The reconnected pieces are displayed against a fabric background with a quilted border. The piece is hung on a bamboo pole.
Created by Betsy Bennett and Margie McCullough, blending textile art with printed imagery for a seamless botanical tapestry.
Dimensions: 32” x 32”

Show Me…
Reminiscent of Mardi Gras, this piece is a quiet invitation to look closer, to reflect, to uncover what might be hidden in plain sight. It speaks to the vulnerability of being seen and the beauty that can be found when we allow ourselves to be open.

Rich textures, quilted fabric, hand-sewn beading, and photographic detail are stitched together to create both a visual and emotional depth.  Hung from Mardi Gras beads.

This collaborative work between Betsy Bennett and Margie McCullough blends tactile craft and storytelling photography to ask a subtle question: what do we show, and what do we hold back?

Dimensions: 18” x 20” wall hanging
